PART 1: Head and Body
Start with Lizbeth 40, ecru color.
Join each round with a slip stitch and chain 1.
Only the arms and legs are worked in continuous rounds.
Round 1: mr, ch 1, 8 sc in the ring – 8 sts
Round 2: 8 inc – 16 sts
NOTE: The increase in round 3 is made differently. Instead of (sc, inc) x 8, you will
make 4 sc in 4 selected sts, leaving 6 sc stitches in between those increases. That will
make the shape more oval so the head stays flat.
Round 3: 4 sc; (4 sc in next st) x 2; 6 sc; (4 sc in next st) x 2; 2 sc – 28 sts

Rounds 4 – 10: 28 sts
NOTE: When you decrease in round 11, make sure to keep your stitches tight or there
will be holes.
Round 11: 4 sc, (sc4tog) x 2, 6 sc, (sc4tog) x 2,
2 sc – 16 sts
NOTE: Before finishing the next round, stuff
the head really well.
Round 12: 8 dec – 8 sts

Change color to yellow.
Round 13: 8 inc – 16 sts
Round 14: (sc, inc) x 8 – 24 sts
NOTE: In round 15, we will be leaving spaces for the arms. Make sure those two spaces
align with the head since the head is not round.
Round 15: 4 sc, sk 5 sts, 7 sc, sk 5 sts, 3 sc – 14 sts

Round 16: (6 sc, inc) x 2 – 16 sts
Round 17: (7 sc, inc) x 2 – 18 sts
Round 18: (8 sc, inc) x 2 – 20 sts
Round 19: (4 sc, inc) x 4 – 24 sts
Round 20: 24 sts
Round 21: (4 sc, dec) x 4 – 20 sts
Round 22: 20 sts
Round 23: 4 sc
Leave 6 sts on each side for legs. I marked the 8 in the middle with thread. These 8
stitches will be sewn later.
NOTE: We need to make 4 sts on round 23 because if we don’t, when we divide the sts
for the legs, our 1st st will fall in between the legs and we will have to break the thread.
This way we can continue with the 1st leg from where we stopped.
Stuff the body well. Leave 6 sts on each side for legs. I marked the 8 in the middle with
thread. These 8 stitches will be sewn later.

PART 2: Legs and Arms
Continue with the first leg from where you stopped earlier. Crochet in the 6 sts you left
empty for 5 rounds.
Fasten off.
The second leg is made the same way, there are 5 rounds and 6 sts in each round. To
begin the 2nd leg, insert the hook in any one of the stitches you left empty for the leg.
Chain 1 and 1 sc in the same st (the st you inserted the hook earlier to begin the 2nd leg).
When finished, fasten off and secure the stitches (consult with the tutorials on Page 2).
Sew the 8 stitches between the legs.

The arms are made in the 5 sts you left on either side of the body.
Attach the thread (yellow color) by inserting the hook in any one st. Chain 1 and 1 sc in
the same st.
Single crochet in the 5 sts for 6 rounds with yellow.
In round 7, change the color to ecru and sc.
Fasten off.
When you finish with the 2nd arm, secure the stitches.

With Lizbeth 40 black thread, sew the eyes on round 8 of the head and 6 sts apart. I sewed
twice with double thread.
Make sure the eyes are centered.

PART 3: Hair
Start with Lizbeth 40, color black
Join each round with a slip stitch and chain 1.
Round 1: mr, ch 1, 10 sc in the ring – 10 sts
Round 2: 10 inc – 20 sts
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 10 – 30 sts
Rounds 4 – 10: 30 sts
Round 11: 12 hdc, sk 1 and sl st in next, hdc until the end of round 11 – 29 sts
Leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off.
Sew or glue the hair to the head about 2 rounds above the eyes. The part you made
should be more towards one side of the face (left or right).

ART 4: Wings and Antennae
Wings (x 2):
The wings are made with Lizbeth 40, color white and 1 mm crochet hook (Boye). Join
each round with a slip stitch and chain 1.
Round 1: mr, ch 1, 6 sc in the ring – 6 sts
Round 2: 6 inc – 12 sts
Rounds 3 – 5: 12 sc
Round 6: (2 sc, dec) x 3 – 9 sts
Round 7: (sc, dec) x 3 – 6 sts
Leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off.

Antennae (x 2):
The antennae are made with Lizbeth 40, color ecru. Join each round with a slip stitch
and chain 1.
Round 1: mr, ch 1, 8 sc in the ring – 8 sts
Round 2: 8 sts
Round 3: 4 dec – 4 sts
Rounds 4 – 5: 4 sc
Leave a long tail for sewing. Fasten off

PART 5: Finishing Off – Antennae and Wings
Sew the wings to the back of the bee. I sewed the wings high on the body, as close to
the head as possible.
Sew the antennae to the top of the head. I sewed them on rounds 5 and 6 of the hair,
about 8 sts apart.

PART 5: Overalls
Start with Lizbeth 40, color black.
Join each round with a slip stitch and chain 1.
You will alternate black and yellow each round.
Chain 23
Round 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 21 sc – 22 sts (black)
Join to the other side with a sl st and ch 1.
Round 2: (10 sc, inc) x 2 – 24 sts (yellow)
Round 3: 24 sc (black)
Rounds 4 – 6: 24 sc (alternate yellow and black every round)
We will continue with the 1st pants’ leg without braking the thread.
Continue alternating between black and yellow in every round.
Pants leg 1:
Round 1 (or round 7 if you count the top): 11 sc; sk 12 sts;
Insert your hook in the 11th stitch you made (see left picture below) and then through the st
on the other side (after you skipped 12, so the 13th st)
1 sc – 12 sts

Join with a sl st and ch 1.
Rounds 2 – 5: 12 sc
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Pants Leg 2:
Join new thread on the back of the overalls by inserting the hook in any one st and ch 1.
Make 1 sc in the same stitch and you chained 1. This will count as the 1st st of round 1 of
the 2nd pants’ leg. Continue by following the instructions for the 1st pants’ leg.
When finished, fasten off and weave in all the ends.

To make the suspenders, use Lizbeth 40, color black.
The suspenders are about 5 sts appart.
Start in the front (the back is where you joined rounds). Insert the hook in a stitch,
YO, and ch 1.
Ch 10 more.
Insert the hook to the middle back of the overalls. YO and ch 1.

Ch 10 more and sl st into the front of the overalls (about 5 sts away from the 1st suspender).
Before fastening off, make sure the suspenders are not too short or too long but fit just right.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
OPTIONAL: Sew two small buttons in front.
You can use cotton swap and blush to make the cheeks pink. Before applying the blush,
wrap the body in a piece of fabric so it does not get dirty.
