Materials:

  • Yarn: Alize Cotton Gold Hobby (50 g/165 m, 55% cotton, 45% acrylic) or YarnArt Jeans (50 g/160 m, 55% cotton, 45% acrylic)
  • Hook size: 2.0 mm
  • Black beads for eyes
  • Black/brown and white embroidery floss
  • Pink dry pastel crayon
  • Sewing needle and scissors
  • Fiberfill

Abbreviations:
R = row
mc = magic circle (magic ring)
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
inc = 2 sc in the next stitch
dec = single crochet 2 stitches together
F.o. = fasten off
(12) = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row
( )* 6 = repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

Legs and body

Legs (make 2)
With yellow/blue color:
R 1: 6 sc in mc (6)
R 2: (inc, 1 sc )*3 (9)
R 3-5: 9 sc (3 rows)
Stuff with fiberfill.
F.o.

Don’t cut the yarn when you will finish the second leg!
From second leg: 4 ch, join with the first leg.

Continue crocheting the body in the round:
R 6: 9 sc on the first leg, 4 sc in 4 ch, 9 sc on the second leg, 4 sc in 4 ch (opposite side) (26)
R 7: inc, 7 sc, inc, 4 sc, inc, 7 sc, inc, 4 sc (30)
R 8-9: 30 sc (2 rows)
Change to sweater’s color:
Then alternate two colours to get stripes (change colour every 1 rows).
R 10-12: 30 sc (3 rows)
R 13: (dec, 3 sc)*6 (24)
R 14: (dec, 2 sc)*6 (18)
R 15: 18 sc
R 16: (dec, 1 sc)*6 (12)
R 17: 12 sc
Change to brown color:
R 18: 6 sc only
Stuff with fiberfill.
F.o. and leave a long tail for sewing.

Arms (make 2)
With brown color:

R 2: inc, 5 sc (7)
Change to sweater’s color:
Then alternate two colours to get stripes (change colour every 1 rows).
R 3-8: 7 sc (6 rows)
Don’t stuff with fiberfill.
Fold top of arm flat and 3 sc through both sides across.
F.o. and leave a long tail for sewing.

With brown color:

Fold top of ears flat and sew together.
F.o. and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly
Sew arms to the body on R 15.
Sew beads for eyes between R 9 and R 10.
Embroider eye brows with black floss.
Sew nose between R 10 and R 11. Embroider mouth with black floss between R 11 and R 14.
Embroider whites of the eyes with white floss.
Sew head to the body.
Sew ears to the head between R 2 and R 4.
Embroider straps for trousers.
Tint cheeks using dry pastel crayon.
